Seneka Cohen is a registered midwife, nurse, and maternal and child health nurse, who brings a deep commitment to providing excellent pre and post natal care to women, together with support and information on your child’s health, growth and development.
Working with Rudolf Steiner’s picture of child development, Seneka provides maternal and child health nursing from birth to three and a half years of age.
There are ten key ages and stages consultations recommended to review your child’s ongoing development and wellbeing. These include: a home visit and consultations at 2, 4 and 8 weeks, 4, 8, 12 and 18 months, 2 and 3 1/2 years of age for all children and their families.
Visits within the first seven weeks of life, including the first home visit, are covered by Medicare.
Maternal health support includes a focus on the mother’s physical and emotional health and recovery from birth, breastfeeding, settling techniques, with space provided for consideration of changes to roles and relationships, and the challenges of parenting.
Seneka works collaboratively with other health professionals and can assist with referrals where necessary.
Seneka is available on Thursday mornings at the Melbourne Therapy Centre or home visits by appointment.
