Bettye Palmer, Director of the Gabriel Centre, has qualifications in nursing, midwifery, health administration and maternal & child health. Bettye brings to this role a wealth of experience working with families in a diverse range of settings including:
- ten years as a home birth midwife
- a special care nursery manager, and
- a maternity services manager
Also, during this time Bettye has been involved in the Anthroposophical movement in the areas of:
- curative education (here and overseas)
- early child development
- social development
The insight and understanding of the human being that has grown out of this work informs Bettye’s work with families. A mother and grandmother, she knows what it means to be a parent as well as understanding the joys and challenges involved in family life.
